Prompt 2: Festivus for the Rest of Us A festival seems to have broken out in the streets in honor of one of the gods. As the day wears on, things become rowdier and more jubilant. He reached over the man on the ground to lightly grasp her hand - the way a man does when he has, for a very long time, politely kissed a woman's hand, and then found himself propelled into an age where everyone shakes, regardless of gender. The adjustment has been made, but caution is still evident in the action.

"And thankfully, it isn't as simple as stealing the title. It requires deposing the previous god and assuming his or her throne. And, of course, convincing the priests to accept your claim, though that isn't as hard as it should be. They're particularly malleable people."

That troubled him; most of the people in Vernos Bay seemed just a little too happy about having a multitude of gods, many of whom were of questionable moral fiber.

"I'll bet the previous God or Goddess of Healing didn't appreciate being deposed."
