Princess Zelda | Breath of the Wild

The girl standing in the middle of a shopping area hasn't moved since her arrival, but her face and nice white dress are both smeared with dried mud. She stares around her with an expression of mixed confusion and curiosity. On the one hand, she can't be away from Hyrule castle for any length of time, but on the other hand... there seems to be a great deal of fascinating technology here for her to marvel at. But more importantly...

"How in the name of the goddess Hylia did I come to be in such a place?"

Oh. She seems as lost here as Varian feels.

"With, with the science on our side, we can certainly find your way home, milady!"

She turns to blink at the stranger, surprised by such an outburst. Can it really be said that science takes sides? Still, it's rather endearing.

Varian. I am Princess Zelda of Hyrule. [ She gives a small curtsy appropriate of her standing, covered in dirt or not. ]

They need not have left any traces to start with. I've seen such technology before, though I don't know exactly how it works.

[ The Ancient Shiekah had a lot of technology that was totally lost 10,000 years later. ]

[ She is positively tickled pink, and consequently loses all semblance of royal dignity. ]

Some of the ancient Shiekah technology we uncovered we were able to work, but it seems that much of what remained was truly meant only for the hero chosen by the Sword that Seals the Darkness.

The towers and shrines were able to be activated once he awoke from the Slumber of Restoration, and they contain a technology that seems to interact with the Shiekah Slate in order to transport the carrier to an activated platform of his choice. I found nothing like it in any of the writings we uncovered, but we found so terribly little to begin with...

Could, could you show me some of those writings, Your Highness? I've learned how to translate some of the old languages, as an alchemist, I had to, I mean... these might not be the right languages.

But, but all of that sounds so fascinating!

What is the Sword that Seals the Darkness? Could it... I wonder if it could help free

The sword? If I recall correctly, in some of the old stories it’s called the Master Sword or the Goddess Sword. We don’t know exactly where it came from. It may have been forged in ancient Hyrule, or it might have been handed down by the goddess Hylia. Either way it was made to battle Calamity Ganon and passed down through the ages to those it deems worthy.

My own power is said to have been passed down by the Goddess through her mortal descendants.

[ She holds out her right hand, and the triforce appears as a brilliant light begins to shine from her palm. She closes her fist and both lights fade. ]

But unless your father has been imprisoned by an evil force I don’t think there’s anything Link or I can do.

[ She blinks, surprised by the glare. ]
